1970
Begins work on publications about and with artists, together with Johannes Gachnang among others. Exhibitions: Galerie Markt 17, Encshede (with Markus Raetz), „Creative Photography“, Galerie Impact, Lausanne. First group exhibition in a museum: „Visualistierte Denkprozesse“, Kunstmuseum Luzern .

1971
Group exhibitions: 7ème Biennale des Jeunes de Paris. Galleria Diagramma, Milan. Kunstverein Kassel. Karl-Ernst.Osthaus Museum, Hagen. Galleria Ip 220, Turin.

1972
Together with Jean-Christoph Ammann makes his first trip to the United States,
Films and photographs artists and happenings at the Documenta 5 in Kassel. This documentation is exhibited a year later by Harald Szeemann in Berne, Milan and Bari. Receives the Eidgenössische Stipendium für angewandte Kunst (Federal Grant für Applied Arts).


1974
Group exhibition: Photographie in der Schweiz von 1840 bis heute, Kunsthaus Zürich

1975-1978
Lives in Chicago where he teaches at the University of Illinois as a Visiting Lecturer of Photography


1976/77.
Documents work by Tom Kovachevich and Claes Oldenburg.


1977
First solo exhibition: Photo canvases ´77, Zolla Liebermann Gallery, Chicago


1978 Plays the role of the crook in Urs Egger’s film Eiskalte Vögel von Urs Egger.


1979
Remains primarily in New York through


1981
